“Tune in, turn it on, and drop out for two minutes and 44 seconds”
BROOKLYN | JUNE 10, 2022: The indie-electronic artist-producer Wooter releases his first single this Friday, June 10th entitled “Epigraph”, a chill psychedelic pop track that will send you to calm waters as a refuge to our current world of war, chaos and anxiety.
“Epigraph” is music to help rid the stresses of life and find that 8th day of the week when you can do whatever you want and nothing is needed or expected of you. Tune in, turn it on, and drop out for two minutes and 44 seconds. This is music for those feeling disillusioned, going in circles, and now trying to break from the routine.
Inspired by ideas after reading The Sun Also Rises, Brind felt the need to express in music the tone of the book, where the characters are living aimless lives and yet live happily unfazed by the world crumbling around them.
Wooter is Rowan Brind, a Brooklyn artist and producer who experiments in several genres of music, ultimately landing on the lush sound of synthesizers after a trip to New Orleans. It was during this trip that Brind composed an entire album on the OP1, a piece of gear he had never considered using before but was the most convenient to tuck into a bag for the trip. An obsessive and meticulous artist, Rowan is now known to fall asleep with it by his side. Sitting nicely in the realm of artists like Tame Impala, Mild High Club, and Gorillaz, Wooter is a sonic melting pot, a tie-dyed kaleidoscope of calm.
ABOUT: A curious and quick study, Rowan Brind aka Wooter is a Brooklyn-based artist and producer. He is a multi-instrumentalist, engineer, and mixer who lives on his laptop. A prolific songwriter, Brind normally works alone, however, Wooter is the rare exception as he collaborates with drummer Caleb Estey, a highly experienced jazz drummer who he met through the grapevines of the music scene. To Brind, “nothing is ever really finished”, as he is a precious perfectionist when it comes to audio production and mixing. A self-admitted gear head, he loves obscure, niche audio equipment and instruments, giving his music a distinctive sound. Born out of years of honing his skills as a producer entirely self-taught and on his own, Brind writes in a very non-traditional way, sometimes first writing to a drum take, then inserting melody and lyrics. Always in search of a new sound, Wooter’s music evolves with each album.

“To wrap your senses in something so magical that they take you out of your physical environment, and into something more intangible, yet equally substantial. Wooter’s new song “I Feel Funny” is a glossy daydream, a two-minute reprieve from the every day that allows us to close our eyes and blast off into another world.”
