The Ten-Year Anniversary Tour
The tour continues with intimate, solo performances
DENVER | August 20, 2025: The tour “Mr. Wood Is Dead” continues! Starting on August 20th in Denver at the Paramount Theater, Will Wood will be performing the latest of his uniquely emotional yet comedic solo shows, this time in stunning theaters across the western and southern US with a combination of hits and reimagined versions of his early work, bringing the dramatic alt-comedy performance style that defines his work to new heights. These theater shows will also feature performances by Fish in a Birdcage.
The solo tour follows the August 15th release of his new film, “Slouching for Branson”, which captures the adventures, music, and stories the artist collects during his 2021 hiatus. The film was released to the Will Wood Patreon, free for members and available to non-members for a one-time purchase. Much like the film, the solo performances are a unique blend of the artist’s storytelling woven into his music. The film “Slouching Towards Branson” is a blend of live performance footage from the winter 2024 “Slouching Toward Bethlehem” tour. The film is shot by Jake Feldman and edited by Will Wood and Jake Feldman.
As fans are aware, with the frankly named “Mr. Wood is Dead” tour, these shows represent a new era of evolution for the cult favorite independent artist, and an apparent swan song finale for the styles and themes that defined the first ten years of his career. If Mr. Wood is indeed dead, where the artist plans to go from here is a mystery.

Will Wood is an American singer-songwriter who has carved out a unique space in music through his distinctive style that blends innovative musical approaches with alternative comedy elements. In 2022, Wood released “In case I make it,” which, at the time, was presented as potentially his final studio album. This was followed by “In Case I Die” in 2023, a live-recorded album that was intended to serve as his definitive final musical offering. Following these releases, Wood announced an “indefinite break or possibly retire from [his] music career” in a candid guest blog for V-13. This hiatus began in 2022 as the artist stepped back to reassess his relationship with music and performance. However, after a period of rest and creative rejuvenation, Wood made a return to the stage, announcing the “Slouching Towards Bethlehem” solo tour, which took place in the winter of 2024, followed by the “Mr. Wood is Dead” tour which served as the tenth anniversary of the first studio album recorded with his band The Tapeworms. The tour in 2025 surprised fans with performances including a new lineup of the band and continues with solo performances through the Fall of 2025. Previously released albums include Everything Is A Lot, in 2015; Self-Ish (stylized as SELF-iSH), in 2016; and The Normal Album, released in 2020 and remastered for a new release in 2024.
