“Blue Fire” – Air Waves
“Blue Fire” is a single off of Brooklyn-based Air Waves’ forthcoming record Warrior, which comes out on April 6th on Western Vinyl. Describing “Blue Fire,” Western Vinyl writes, “[Frontwoman] Nicole Schneit equates her post-presidential-election anxiety to a flame that grows and recedes, as she pleads for herself and listeners to remain calm.” For fans of Lower Dens and Youth Lagoon.
“Bum” – Kraus
According to Pitchfork, “Kraus makes noise rock for anxious people.” “Bum” fits this description, coming off of Will Kraus’ latest album Path, released by Terrible Records earlier this month. This experimental noise rock is perfect for fans of Slowdive and Ride.
“Carve” – Pole Siblings
“Carve” is probably the prettiest song about wanting to kill someone. This single comes from brother-sister duo Pole Siblings, originally from Finland and now residing in Sweden. “Carve” is the first song from Pole Siblings’ newest EP Sköljer Bort Dig, which comes out on April 6th via Strangers Candy. For fans of Sharon Van Etten and Mazzy Star.
“Golden Hours” – The Hidden Shelf
The Hidden Shelf is a solo project from Philly-based artist Minji Kong. “Golden Hours” is from a small EP she released earlier this year called Cut It Short A Year Ago. For fans of Pure Bathing Culture, Hospitality, and Tennis.
“Hold On (I Was Wrong)” – Video Age
New Orleans’ Video Age are a groovy two-piece that draw sounds from 80s new wave and 60s surf rock. “Hold On (I Was Wrong)” is a single from their forthcoming record Pop Therapy, which is out in June via Inflated Records. Fans of the Kinks, XTC, and Echo & the Bunnymen will dig Video Age.
