CINCINNATI, OH // June 6, 2016: Ohio-bred rock ’n rollers The Skulx (members of Foxy Shazam and Cadaver Dogs) are embarking on a brief east coast tour this June, including four featured showcases at the Northside Festival [details] in Brooklyn, NY.
The quintet will also be making their debut appearances in major markets including Philadelphia, Washington DC, and Louisville, KY before wrapping things up with a pair of home state shows. The Skulx are supporting their self-titled debut full-length, an album which Cincinnati’s Citybeat Magazine says “folds the standard blueprint of rock into a giant origami swan, turns it on its head, spray paints it with fluorescent colors, dusts it with powdered sugar, and puts a match to it.” The nine-song LP features special guests from acts including Larry & His Flask, Slash & The Conspirators, and Bad Rabbits. They also recently opened for equally bombastic UK rockers The Darkness and were featured this month in major American rock magazine Alternative Press [LEFT] who described them as possessing “giddy electricity and a bevy of hooks”.

THE SKULX Announce “You Must Experience” Tour
w/ Flannel Mouth (SwitchBitch Records)
CINCINNATI, OH // January 4, 2016: Ohio-bred rock ’n rollers, The Skulx (members of Foxy Shazam and Cadaver Dogs) are headed to SXSW in early March on the You Must Experience tour, hitting a few new cities and states along the way. Stops include Hattiesburg, Nashville, Oklahoma City, and of course, Cincinnati.
Touring alongside the gritty rockers is newcomer, Flannel Mouth (SwitchBitch Records), from Peoria, Illinois. The Midwestern avant-garde group is releasing their debut full-length, The Prisoner’s Cinema, on March 11. “It’s been a dream of ours to be pushing a new record on a tour to South By,” says drummer, Tyler Owen, “but worlds cooler to be hooking up with a band like The Skulx on the way. True nit-and-grit rock ’n roll is art and soul, and they have both in droves.”
The Skulx is touring on the success of their New Years’ gift — a self-titled album, available streaming or exclusively on vinyl at Mind Over Matter Records. In the words of Cincinnati’s CityBeat, “The Skulx’s eponymous debut folds the standard blueprint of rock into a giant origami swan, turns it on its head, spray paints it with fluorescent colors, dusts it with powdered sugar, and puts a match to it.” The highly-anticipated, nine-song full-length features special guests from acts including Larry & His Flask, Slash & The Conspirators, Good English, and Bad Rabbits.

The Skulx Release Debut Self-Titled Full Length!

CINCINNATI, OH // December 31, 2015 : Ohio’s rising rock phenoms The Skulx (feat. members of Foxy Shazam & Cadaver Dogs) recently partnered up with New Noise Magazine to exclusively stream their highly anticipated debut self-titled full length [LINK]. Thanks to Mind Over Matter Records, they are proud to finally be able to share that record today!
The nine song album features special guests from acts including Bad Rabbits, Slash & The Conspirators, Larry & His Flask, and is now available digitally through itunes, Bandcamp, Amazon, Spotify and all other major digital outlets, as well as a limited-edition deluxe vinyl LP. The vinyl version will see a metallic silver (219 copies) or clear with black & white splatter (109 copies) pressing, contained in a die-cut jacket with a sixteen page oversize booklet, with pre-orders going live on Dec. 19. The band has released three singles, “Do What You Do”, “Suckin’ On Stars” and “Different Breed”.
