Grape & Grain vinyl
HUDSON VALLEY, NY // March 31, 2015 – The Grape And The Grain have announced a limited-edition vinyl pressing of their self-titled debut full length, to be released on Record Store Day (April 18th). Combining elements of blues, folk and hard-rock, their sound is brought to life on vinyl, authenticating the listener’s experience of gritty, heart-felt rock n’ roll.

Limited to one hundred pieces, the vinyl features customized sleeves designed and printed by drummer Steven Markota’s screen print shop. Regularly producing their own merchandise, the band stays true to their DIY roots utilizing their own talents and local support whenever possible. Self-produced, the album was recorded at Applehead Studio and vinyl imprints were produced by Boneshaker Records.

The band has also been producing acoustic covers of songs off their album, including “If God Is Love” which premiered on Altsounds; “Burnt By the Sun” on Under the Gun and “The Hudson” on New Noise Magazine. The tracks will be compiled on an acoustic EP to be released on May 26th.

Vinyl copies of The Grape And The Grain can be purchased via the band’s Bandcamp starting April 18th. Digital copies of the album can be found on Itunes [link], CDBaby [link], Bandcamp [link] and other online retailers.

The Grape & The GrainTHE GRAPE AND THE GRAIN began in early 2012 as a solo project for Daniel Grimsland (bassist for Woodstock, NY’s progressive rock band ‘3’). Their debut album “Better Keep Digging” is a true “solo project” featuring Grimsland on all instruments and vocals, as well as, producer and songwriter. After Grimsland finished “Better Keep Digging” it was clear he could no longer move forward on his own, so he called on long time friends and music collaborators Jacob Kolbinski (Guitar), Josiah Smith (Bass) (both members of Ghost Among The Dead, The Ricochet, and The Ciggs), as well as, Jacob’s brother David Kolbinski (Drums) (The Daydreamers) to join him in this project. Steven Markota of Nightmares For A Week has also since joined the band, playing a variety of instruments.
