BROOKLYN | March 6, 2024: Soul Diva Carla Gibson releases the R&B gem “Ready” today on all streaming platforms, supported by a record release show at Brooklyn Tea at 7:30 pm, 411 Lewis Ave, Brooklyn.
The story Gibson recalls behind the inspiration for creating “Ready” sets the tone of the laid-back, soulful song. One late winter night 3 people sat in a small studio apartment, drank tequila, and reminisced about the younger years watching 2000s R&B music videos. Not knowing this would probably be one of the last sessions together they held onto It with every single laugh they had. Singer Carla Gibson wanted to recreate the R&B vibes of the early 2000s while making a new anthem for women and their freedom of sexuality. She wants this song to empower women to take the reins and control their sexual exploration with their inner lover. Late friend Jordan Cleare took this idea and created the perfect phrasing to set the ideal love scene.
Classically trained vocalist, Carla has spent the last ten years of her life working on her One Woman Show, the “Carla Gibson Show”, where she has been on a journey singing other people’s songs while at the same time working on her own distinctive sound. When people come to see her show, she draws them into her dream world, capturing them, and holding their attention for hours.
