NEW JERSEY | FEB 16, 2024: Indie music artist, songwriter, and producer Solar Bloom releases his latest single, “Sunday Games,” on Friday, February 16th. This upbeat indie pop track marks Solar Bloom’s first single of 2024, offering a playful and infectious take on Gen Z priorities.
Drawing inspiration from the likes of early Vampire Weekend and infusing percussion elements reminiscent of Paul Simon’s Graceland, “Sunday Games” showcases Solar Bloom’s genre-bending musical style. The track features drums, both digital and analog, which was a collaboration between Solar Bloom (Matt DeVoti) and producer/artist Joey Papa (Human Zoo), who also contributed his expertise as the co-producer and mixer for the song.
Solar Bloom, the artist nom de plume for Matt DeVoti, crafted the song’s initial demo at home, playing all instruments except drums. Collaborating with Joey Papa, they added electronic and live drums, co-producing the final version of the track. The collaboration stems from the vibrant New Jersey indie scene, where Matt and Joey first crossed paths at a live show, sparking a musical partnership that continues to flourish.
“Sunday Games” delves into the relatable theme of choosing video games over face-to-face socializing, resonating with the experiences of today’s Gen Z.
