Los Angeles | Sept. 29, 2023: On the heels of releasing her third Christmas album (aptly titled Santa’s Takin’ Over the Town) award-winning, festive-loving artist Rehya Stevens jingles gently down the lane with her new single “Early Winter,” coming to all streaming music platforms on September 29th.

While Stevens’ Christmas catalog is beloved for its effusive spirit that tickles our need for levity, “Early Winter” nestles in humble juxtaposition. Written by Stevens and produced by tv/film composer Brian Steckler, the delicate ballad pulls on emotional threads that run deep.

“Early Winter is one of my favorite pieces from this new collection. It isn’t a Christmas song per se, but it is certainly fit for the tender side of the season. Many people face the holidays with grief for loved ones passed, relationships torn apart, and regrets to wrestle with in the aftermath. I have known those Christmases – and because life is not permanent, there are bound to be difficult Christmases ahead. I look around at my family, and each year I see my parents getting a little older – and even though they’re still vital and healthy, I get pangs of anticipatory grief for their eventual passing. Every day is more precious now. This song is about learning through mistakes, while it’s also about maturing enough to treasure the time you have with the people you love, and to treat them with dignity and radical acceptance, even when it’s challenging. Few things are worth blowing up a solid relationship over. Life is a great teacher.”

Reyha Stevens

Having garnered a #2 Billboard holiday single, an HMMA Award for ‘Best in Holiday,’ and over 46 sync licenses to date, including songs in the upcoming holiday films Best. Christmas. Ever. (starring Heather Graham), Dating Santa, and Dashing Through the Snow (starring Ludacris), Stevens’ jolly song satchel seems to grow every year, and 2023 is no exception.

Engaging in an innovative release plan, Santa’s Taking Over the Town DELUXE EDITION will be out on October 27th, made available on CD only. For Christmas music connoisseurs who cherish physical music, the DELUXE EDITION CD will feature 21 songs, including Santa’s Takin’ Over the Town, PLUS Rehya’s 2021 album ‘Tis the Season, previously available on digital platforms only.

“I’m a little old-school… CD’s and vinyl are still my go-to’s at Christmas time. I love to indulge in the artist’s body of work while puttering around the house, decorating the tree, and baking cookies. It feels natural to experience the lush nature of Christmas music full boar, rather than divided up in a playlist. I hope this CD will create a special space in households for many, many holiday seasons to come. There will certainly be enough songs to get you in the spirit and keep you there for a long time!”

For digital music lovers, Santa’s Takin’ Over the Town will be released in late November on all streaming platforms. More details to come!
