LOS ANGELES | November 24, 2023: Award-winning artist Rehya Stevens releases an all-original Christmas album, Santa’s Takin’ Over The Town in tandem with the third single ‘Wonderful World Tonight,’ on November 24th, 2023.
Santa’s Takin’ Over The Town features ten new songs (produced by film/tv composer Brian Steckler) to make our holidays cozy, comfy & bright!
Harking from the golden of Christmas past, ‘Christmas is Near’ opens the album like a confetti-filled invitation to begin the festivities. From the giddy, mischievous ‘Don’t Be Late,’ to the high-octane rockabilly flavored ‘Santa’s Takin’ Over The Town,’ all the way to ‘Be My Baby By Christmas Night,’ the merriment is non-stop! But alas, ‘Early Winter’ arrives to deliver the heart-wrenching, melancholy side of the season that is an inevitable part of the human experience.
‘Christmas Is Comin’ Again’ engages more levity with a leisurely gait that brings to mind the simple pleasures of the season. The bluesy, tongue-in-cheek ‘Me, Myself & I,’ paints an all-too-clear picture of a lost, down-and-out soul spending Christmas alone at the bar. ‘Welcome One & All’ provides a spiritual moment with a poignant, non-religious hymn that gently reminds us to soften our judgments and widen the welcome table. The closing track ‘Spread A Little Love For Christmas,’ wraps the spirit of the album with an island beat, and a message of worldwide inclusivity.
The fun-loving single ‘Wonderful World Tonight,’ is a festive party-in-a-song that provides an idyllic, chug-along-through-the-town experience that celebrates ”friends-mas” plans with a youthful touch of whimsy.

“‘Wonderful World Tonight’ was inspired by wanting to “chase the winter blues away!” I still remember the way I felt between the ages of 13 and 15 before I had a driver’s license. I was bored to tears spending so many sedate evenings at home during the holidays! So, from 16 on, I’ve held a tradition to rally a few friends for a day trip to the snow, or a night on the town together during the holiday season. Those memories become so re-energizing and precious as the years go by, There’s not a whole lot that fun, frolic, and belly laughs can’t alleviate!
This whole album feels like a joy-filled celebration of each other, really. I think these songs celebrate the amazing times, the sweet, simple times, and the trying times. Being human is such a dynamic experience of ups, downs, and in-betweens. At the end of each year, it feels wonderful to celebrate together, laugh, and soften up a bit. I hope this album infuses people with great levity, compassion, and appreciation for every person at the holiday dinner table, year after year.” – Rehya Stevens
