Brooklyn punk rockers celebrate their comical humor with new video, announce new tour dates
NEW YORK CITY | April 20, 2018 – Barreling forward on a path of their own, NYC punk rock outfit The Tracys put their individuality and humor on full-display, with their new video for “I Hate Dancing” today! The track comes off their full-length album Humdinger, released last month, as a celebration of talents and… lack of talents. The comical and entertaining video, which premiered on The Punk Site, highlights the band’s personality, live performance skills, and utter lack of dancing talent. Thankfully, we’re here for the music!
“We’re punk rock musicians; if we’re not violently bashing into each other, we’re standing in the back drinking. Dancing? Not so much,” said the band. “The “I Hate Dancing” video, our second project with director Benoit Gabriel, puts our sense of humor, and fun-loving nature on display. This video documents our futile efforts to learn some dance moves, and cements our legacy as the worst boy band in the world.”
Shot in black and white, the video provides a simple yet incredibly entertaining series of video cuts, from dance moves, to live footage from the band’s practice space, and sweet surprises. The video provides a light-hearted blast of comical relief, while other tracks on their new album Humdinger take on the role of addressing more serious aspects of modern society. Known for blending old-school west coast 80’s-style punk with modern pop-punk energy, The Tracys have found their niche to simultaneously address and entertain.
Along with the new video, the band also released a series of upcoming regional show dates, with plans for a west coast tour to come later this year. Humdinger is available for streaming and purchase on all major digital retailers now, including Spotify, Bandcamp and iTunes.

From the rancid shores of Brooklyn’s Gowanus canal rose a quartet of punk rockers called The Tracys. Raised on 80’s punk with a side of maple syrup, Alberta native Dave Klym (The Mike Plume Band, The Populars, Itch) is the driving force behind the band’s monster hooks and blazing solos. On rhythm guitar, John Payne (Puppetbox) has been known to contribute harmonies as silky as his well-coiffed hair. Larry Mancini holds down the fort on the bass guitar with a little bit of whimsy, and a belly full of pizza. Anchoring this operation is drummer Matt Ernst, whose thunderous beats form the foundation for the group’s aggressive style.
With infectious melodies and gallows humor, The Tracys’ brand of pop punk holds true to the sensibilities of old-school west coast punk. With the release of their third record, Humdinger, The Tracys continue to hone their signature sound, taking aim at what ails us with a double barreled blast of music and mayhem.
