Funk-infused alt-rockers will leave you craving more; announce international and U.S. tour dates
premiered on PureGrainAudio.com
NEW YORK CITY | April 20, 2018 – Brazilian/American rock band Added Color deliver a brand-new and electrifying EP today, titled Mr. Industry! A tightly knit, five-track release blends the band’s signature funk-infused alternative-rock sound, providing a reflection of their Brazilian roots and endless pulsating energy. PureGrain Audio premiered the release complimenting its “addictive groove and catchy hooks”.
The band shared that Mr. Industry comes as a reflection and personification of the current state of the music and arts industry. “The character (Mr. Industry) represents the corporate mentality that has taken over the industry in a time where it is going through a crisis,” said the band. “Mr. Industry cares only about putting artists in a creative box and marketing them. Basically, if you sound like everyone else, it’s easier to associate you to other acts and sell you. The idea behind the EP connects with our overall message, which is about being yourself at all times no matter what. Mr. Industry is the force that we are fighting against as we live for honest and original music.” Mr. Industry comes as Added Color’s second EP, following their debut EP Psycho, released last May. With their sophomore release, the band continues to explore concepts of individuality while developing their rapidly maturing sound. Mr. Industry was recorded at state of the art Silver Cord Studios in Brooklyn, NY by Jamie Uertz (Blind Melon) and Grammy nominated Johann Meyer (Gojira/Roadrunner Records).
Earlier this spring, the band released a music video for “Same Place” via New Noise Magazine, followed by the single “Just Because” on Pancakes and Whiskey, who described it as a “standout track.” While broadly categorized in the alternative-rock realm, new listeners will quickly realize that Added Color are anything but your run-of-the-mill outfit, as they blend together a myriad of sounds, genres and inspiration into their work. Dan (drums/vocals) and Kiko Freiberg (guitar/vocals), brothers hailing from São Paulo, Brazil, joined forces with Tim Haggerty and Danny Dahan, for a fusion of backgrounds to form the band’s unique chemistry. Embracing and celebrating their widespread connections, the band has toured across the U.S. and toured internationally in Canada, Morocco and Brazil.
Added Color will return to Morocco later this month, for a week-long string of dates, followed by a series of U.S. tour dates kicking off in late May. Dates can be found below, with additional shows to be announced in coming weeks. The band shared, “we’re excited to be repeating the Morocco/USA route that we successfully did last year when we released Psycho. Our message is one of inclusion and celebration, so it is incredible to be able to take our show around the world for the Mr. Industry EP. For those who haven’t seen Added Color live, you’re in for an explosive and energetic experience where you can be yourself and let loose!”
Mr. Industry is out now on iTunes, Spotify, CDBaby and all major digital retailers. With an animated music video for “Panic Attack” coming soon, Added Color’s dedication and boundless energy set the pace for a promising year.

ABOUT ADDED COLOR: ADDED COLOR is a Brazilian/American rock band formed in Brooklyn, NY, comprised of Brazilian brothers Dan and Kiko Freiberg, Tim Haggerty, and Danny Dahan. Since meeting in 2014, the group has played over 200 shows in over 20 states in the USA, and toured internationally in Canada, Morocco, and Brazil. They have played major festivals in Brazil such as Porão do Rock, which has featured Muse, Eagles of Death Metal, amongst others, and are currently working on finalizing a tour through the USA, Europe, Morocco, and Brazil in 2018. While they have only been called Added Color since May, 2017, the band’s previous project under the same formation received critical acclaim from significant press outlets such as PureVolume, Red Bull Music, The Huffington Post, AOL Noisecreep, and The Village Voice, with The Monsters of Rock Festival officially nominating them as one of the top five upcoming Brazilian rock bands.
Added Color made their debut on May 9, 2017 releasing their 5-song EP entitled Psycho. The EP received the backing of an international tour, beginning in Morocco and was followed by a 6-week US Tour. Pancakes and Whiskey debuted the title single off the Psycho EP by stating “If you’re ready to hear the best rock track of the year, thus far, then you’ve come to the right place.” Psycho will be followed up by another 5-song EP entitled Mr. Industry set for release on April 20, 2018. Mr. Industry was recorded in Brooklyn at Silver Cord Studios by Johann Meyer (Gojira/Roadrunner Records) and Jamie Uertz (Blind Melon) and produced by Added Color and Fadel Dabien.
Whether they’re playing big stages in Brazilian festivals or more intimate venues, Added Color always brings a high energy performance to the audience. Their message: be yourself no matter what, respect others for who they are, and don’t play into people’s expectations of who you should be.
