Natalie Lain Releases Debut Self-Titled EP
Natalie Lain’s self-titled EP is now available on iTunes HERE.
Mechanicsburg, PA // January 10th, 2017: The months leading up to 2017 were ripe with inspiration for singer-songwriter, Natalie Lain. November dropped Lain into SwitchBitch Studios and under the wing of engineer and producer Michael Abiuso who helped the young singer to hone-in on the concepts and musical musings that would become the songs on her debut, self-titled EP which drops today. With Lain’s unconventional approach to writing and Abiuso’s impeccable ear and expertise behind the board, the pair often built the songs from the ground-up, sometimes starting with nothing more than a melody or a bit of poetry. Like fine filament the two spun these spontaneous bouts of inspiration into a sonic tapestry of four, beautifully unique pop songs.
The four track EP explores Lain’s original style of songwriting and demonstrates her creative ability as a musician and lyricist. While her approach to songwriting and structure is untraditional, the compositions still flow beautifully and pull the listener in unpredictable, yet pleasing directions. The CD will include a songbook full of her original paintings and art that exemplifies the mood of her music, love of nature, astronomy, and physical copies will be available for purchase on January 20th via Bandcamp.
According to Lain, this album is a short compilation of her early work as a musician. A self-proclaimed poet inspired by a number of artists in various realms, Lain enjoys the process of taking what’s written and bringing it to life through her music. She will continue to evolve and develop her style for her up coming full-length record.
“My niche as a musician is constantly becoming clearer to me, yet always expanding. I love grunge, jazz, metal, edm, and rock n roll. I see myself incorporating all of that which inspires me into my future work and did my very best to incorporate it into this album. I could not be more grateful to be a part of this wild and crazy world full of art and full experiences to be had and shared. Music is truly everything.”
