New York, NY | March 7, 2025: Acclaimed NYC singer-songwriter Kristin Pepper is set to release her fifth single, Marco Polo, on March 7, 2025. Known for her lyrical storytelling and deeply personal songwriting, Kristin invites listeners into an immersive soundscape, blending dreamlike melodies with introspective lyricism.

Marco Polo is an indie pop exploration of temptation, illusion, and the human need for connection. Through a swirling, kaleidoscopic journey, the song evokes a sense of stepping into a dreamscape where reality bends and shimmers. It touches on the fear of loneliness, the struggle to trust, and the comfort found in community.

The track opens in its most intimate form—Kristin alone on piano, her voice rich with emotion. As the song progresses, the arrangement expands, bringing in lush harmonies from her sisters, Steph Kennedy and Lauren Geber Marquez, who join her in the chorus, echoing the reassurance, “I’m not alone, I’m not alone.”

From this delicate beginning, the song swells into a technicolor reverie with a driving beat, featuring a glistening Moog synth, dynamic drums (Coleman Breining), and electric bass (Erin Famous). The instrumentation shimmers like a psychedelic trip, a mesmerizing and surreal auditory experience. The track then dissolves back into the raw simplicity of piano and vocals, completing its unique A-B-A structure in a hauntingly beautiful return to stillness. Kristin’s son Wyatt Pepper was her partner in the arrangement of Marco Polo which was recorded at Behind the Curtains Media studios in Brooklyn, NY, under the expert guidance of producer and engineer Mike Abiuso.

“This song feels like a dream,” says Pepper. “It’s about how we navigate trust, the illusions we hold onto, and the moments we reach for something real.”

Marco Polo will be available on all major streaming platforms on March 7, 2025. For more information, updates, and exclusive content, follow Kristin Pepper on social media and visit her official website.

ABOUT: Kristin Pepper is a New York City-based singer-songwriter, who has been performing in residence alongside her sister Lauren Geber Marquez at the historic Fraunces Tavern in lower Manhattan every weekend for the past three years. Known for her captivating performances as a piano-bar entertainer, Kristin’s lifelong passion for music stems from a deep-rooted classical background. Raised by professional musicians—her parents performed with the Cleveland Orchestra and Cleveland Opera—Kristin studied classical piano and bassoon, influences that continue to shape her music by blending her classical roots with modern songwriting and production.

Her background in theater adds a rich storytelling dimension to her songs, which are filled with moments of reflection and emotional depth. Kristin’s lyrics often delve into the complexities of adulthood, offering an authentic exploration of life’s transitions.

Inspired by artist Jacob Collier’s advice to “make what you wish existed,” Kristin approaches music as a personal passion and a family affair. Her debut record features contributions from her sister Lauren and her son Wyatt, a jazz trumpet player who helped arrange the album. This collaboration reflects her belief that music is family, and for her, music is life.
