NEW YORK, NY | March 10, 2022 – Actress, songwriter, and performer Judy Malka releases her most inspiring song to date with the original pop single “Someone Like You” on March 10, 2023.
“Someone Like You” was written almost two years ago, inspired by her experience during the pandemic:
“One morning and I was so depressed with how heavy the news of the world was, how the world was shut down. A voice inside me told me to start writing. I didn’t know what the subject matter would be.” -JM
Most of the song came at once, with the only thing missing being the chorus which came a few months later while on a flight. “All of my life I knew that I would find someone like you” appeared while looking out the window at the vast expanse of sky before her.
“I feel that this song is not about a specific person, I just wanted to write a song that was going to be inspiring to a lot of people to help everyone going through this time. All of us have been in that place where we have looked for that somebody that was going to be “the one” and that was the intention of the song.” – JM
“Someone Like You” was arranged, recorded, mixed, and mastered by producer Mike Abiuso at Behind the Curtains Media in Brooklyn, NY.
ABOUT: Singer, songwriter, actor, and dancer Judy Malka began her career as one of the first Israeli kids chosen to perform in the rock opera Jesus Christ Superstar and has been cast in such high-profile productions as Orange is the New Black, The Punisher, and Gotham. She spent years of study in some of the best acting and singing institutes in NYC and LA including Juilliard, The Actors Studio, Gene Frankel, Lee Strasberg, and most recently performed in the Metropolitan Opera’s world-renowned production of “La Boheme”.
