The indie pop-punk quartet are brandishing forward in high style, as it is their second single off their upcoming album Pilot Waves. ICARUS THE OWL Release Music Video
for New Single “Skysweeper”

Off Upcoming Album Pilot Waves, Due Out October 16th

Vinyl and Album Pre-Orders Now Available; With Immediate Download of “Skysweeper”

PORTLAND, OR // August 19, 2015 – Indie pop-punk quartet Icarus the Owl team up with Under The Gun Review to premiere their official music video for their new single “Skysweeper” today, which is off their upcoming album, Pilot Waves due out October 16th. The song is their first new release since signing to Blue Swan Records earlier this summer. Bridging the gap of old to new, the song blends the band’s growing sound and new-found style.

The video is centralized around the Skysweeper’s line, “See me fall in love and watch me feed her to the wolves,” in building a tantalizing storyline. As vocalist Joey Rubenstein explained, “It’s the idea that only the thrill of the chase is appealing and once we have caught up to whatever we are chasing, we tend to throw it away.” Filmed by Nolan Johnson of Quantum Productions, the video came together seamlessly, bringing the band’s vision and story to life.

Pilot Waves stretches Icarus the Owls’ sound to new levels, showcasing their newfound chops and progression of the band’s sound in their fourth full-length album. Pre-orders of the album are available beginning today along with vinyl bundles. Both of which include an immediate download of “Skysweeper” via the band’s Bandcamp.

Extended Bio :

Icarus The Owl is an alternative rock band from Portland, Oregon, formed in 2009. Alternative Press describes their sound as “technical pop-rock…equal parts ferocious guitar lines and infectious melodies, Icarus are sure to surprise at every turn.”

Without the help of a label, the band was able to distribute their 2009 debut album, “The Spotless Mind” in stores such as Hot Topic and other independent retailers across the nation. The band has also licensed music and appeared on MTV programming.

Their latest release, “Icarus The Owl” came out in February of 2014. It was produced by Kris Crummett (Dance Gavin Dance, Sleeping With Sirens, A Lot Like Birds) at Interlace Audio in Portland, OR. It is the follow up to the band’s 2012 release, “Love Always, Leviathan”.

Before signing with Artery Global, Icarus The Owl has booked themselves on over 15 national tours each averaging 7 weeks in length, Including an appearance on the “Kevin Says Stage” on the 2013 Vans Warped Tour. Throughout these tours, the band has shared the stage with The Ataris, The Story So Far, From Indian Lakes, Dance Gavin Dance, The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, We Came As Romans, Becoming The Archetype, Protest The Hero, Tesseract, The Dangerous Summer, Maylene and the Sons of Disaster, and many more.

In the last year, Icarus The Owl headlined their first European tour. Icarus The Owl was also a part of the first ever Blue Swan Records (Will Swan of Dance Gavin Dance) tour featuring Hail The Sun and Stolas, which covered the entire United States. Icarus supported A Lot Like Birds on a nationwide tour in 2015. They were recently part of the 2015 Launch Tour.
