HOLD THE PHONE, POWER VOCALIST JENNIFER SILVA RELEASES “LANDLINE”

THE FIRST SINGLE FROM HER HIGHLY-ANTICIPATED ALBUM PURGATORY ROAD

BROOKLYN | SEPTEMBER 24, 2021 The soulful Jennifer Silva calls you from her “Landline” ; the first single released from her upcoming full-length album Purgatory Road. Featuring her trademark blues-infused vocals, this Indie-Rock track takes the listener back to a time before we were glued to our mobile phones. “Landline” is an intimate song about personal connections; a longing to bond with someone without the distractions of modern technology. Inspired by classic soul songs from the 1970s as well as images of romantic leading ladies from the Hitchcock and film noir eras, Silva yearns for when the phone was used for only one thing, a call.

This song reminds me of a time when people were more connected emotionally. I feel nostalgic toward a simpler time when we had a meaningful, straightforward way of communicating. We may be more technologically connected than ever before, but most of us keep people at a distance and only let them see a more polished, perfect version of ourselves that can be edited and filtered. We are also constantly multitasking on, and distracted by, our phones. I long for a time when you could just focus on talking to someone special on the telephone and connecting for hours on end with them that way. I think people need something real. Modern technology is great in many ways, but it can also be a barrier between us. A simple telephone represents an authenticity that frankly, has been lost.”     – Jennifer Silva

“Landline” was recorded at Vinegar Hill Sound with Producer and Engineer Reed Black and will be released on all major music platforms, including Spotify, Amazon Music, and Apple Music, and on October 8th, the accompanying music video will be released and premiered at 5 pm EST on YouTube.

Silva’s upcoming full length album will be released on October 29th – “Purgatory Road” features ten songs about complicated, strong, yet flawed characters. Her lyrics showcase a vulnerability and connection to the deep, dark places that live somewhere in us all. Silva mentors listeners by reflecting on her mistakes and puts the audience under a musical spell. She welcomes the ghosts that linger in our lives and continue to haunt us.
