DAYTON, OH // March 1, 2016: The gritty grunge-pop sisters, Elizabeth, Celia, and Leslie Rasmussen – better known as the fierce trio Good English – remains in your face and at it once again as they partner up with Under The Gun Review to unleash their second single “Girl.” The track is off their highly anticipated self-titled full-length slated to release on March 11, 2016 and available for pre-order HERE. Like many legendary songs, as well as others on their new album, this one was written extremely fast and naturally. “Almost immediately I could hear the melody in my head. I knew I wanted the vocals to come after the guitar chords stop and have it continue like that until the pre-chorus and chorus,” stated Elizabeth. With lyrics influenced by the concept of a strong and powerful female figure, she continues, “In some instances the lyrics are a warning to the other female to keep her guard up, while in other instances they’re kind of snarky toward one another. Sometimes the song ends up in a completely different direction than I had thought, but with this one, it went right where I wanted it to…into the mind of a girl!”

Recorded in Troy, Ohio at Popside Recording Studios by Micah Carli, “Girl” was co-produced by Good English and Mathew Franklin who is known for his work in Cadaver Dogs and The Skulx. “Mathew was a huge help in finding that hook. He came up with the digressing melody behind the chorus that is so catchy and sing-alongy it made us all want to jump in a car, roll the windows down, and belt it out with our best friends by our side. It has an anthem-like feel to it that we have never had in any of our previous recordings,” explained the girls. “Girl” was mastered by Kevin Antreassian at Backroom Studios in Rockaway, NJ.
In support of the new album, Good English will be heading out for an expansive national tour including a stop in Austin, TX for South By Southwest later this month to play a few showcases. In addition, they will be releasing frequent music videos, working on new material, booking further regional tours, keeping their creative juices flowing and fans happy!
Biography: Good English is a three-sister rock band based out of Dayton, Ohio that has built its unique sound on a bedrock of grunge, garage-pop, and punk-influenced rock and roll. The sisters, Elizabeth, Celia, and Leslie Rasmussen, have been playing out together in bars, taverns, theaters, galleries, and festivals since they were in junior high and high school, performing original music and entrancing audiences along the way. With vocal and instrumental comparisons spanning an enormous spectrum… part Nancy Sinatra, part Karen O, part Sleater-Kinney part Black Sabbath, the dark rich vibe the band is channeling is a haunting and engaging revitalization of post nineties rock and roll.
