LOS ANGELES | JULY 28, 2023: Los Angeles-based Artist/Producer Frederick, The First releases the alt pop single “Spit You Out” on July 28, 2023 to all streaming platforms. The song, a powerful anthem of self-discovery and empowerment, takes listeners on a journey of overcoming doubt and reclaiming self-worth after believing the harsh criticisms of another.
The track, created wholly by the producer-singer-songwriter Frederick, The First, delves into the raw emotions of being confronted with harsh judgments from others and ultimately realizing their true value. It resonates with anyone who has ever faced criticism, doubt, or negativity in their lives, only to emerge stronger, more confident, and defiant in the face of adversity.
“‘Spit You Out’ is about the transformative experience of believing someone’s harsh judgements about you from someone trusted, and then realizing their words don’t define you,” says Frederick The First. “Swallowing such poison leads to a slow death, an erosion of every gift that made you great, that made you who you were. And then in pursuit of relief you move to change yourself as you mistakenly chase an ideal of who you should be or should have been but only according to another. Then almost as if by some stroke of luck, or the grace of God Himself, you wake up to find that you had been fighting a monstrous shadow on the wall cast by a mouse in the candlelight. You swallowed it all and all of it was trash. They were wrong, you were right and it’s time for a purging, a cleansing, it’s time to spit it out.”
With its captivating blend of alt-pop melodies, dynamic vocals, and poignant lyrics, “Spit You Out” showcases Frederick The First’s exceptional talent as a multi instrumentalist, producer, vocalist and songwriter. The song’s infectious chorus and uplifting message create an irresistible anthem that listeners will find themselves humming long after the music stops.
