New York, NY – November 7, 2025 – Indie pop artist and songwriter Amanda Brecker is thrilled to announce the release of her new single, “Child At Heart,” available today on all major streaming platforms. This dreamy and positive track is a captivating collaboration with longtime childhood friend and producer Mike Abiuso of the Brooklyn-based recording studio Behind the Curtains Media.

The Genesis of “Child At Heart”

The inspiration for “Child At Heart” struck Brecker during a routine morning run. “I started hearing a bass line in my head in time signature 5/4,” Brecker explains, reflecting her long-time affinity for odd time signatures. “I sent an audio singing the bass line to Mike, and from there, we started to exchange ideas, which ultimately led to us meeting at the studio to record.”

The deep musical chemistry between Brecker and Abiuso, who are childhood friends, shines through in the recording. “Mike and I work so well together. We are so in tune with one another musically, and we have a ton of fun creating,” Brecker notes.

A Dreamy Escape and Uplifting Message

Brecker and Abiuso aimed to create a song that is positive, uplifting, and kind of dreamy—almost like an escape. The core message of “Child At Heart” is a reassuring one: it’s okay to let go and find your way back amid life’s complexities.

“Life can get messy, we can lose our way, but the message in the song is that it’s okay. We all go through it and find our way back through the ups, downs, and in-betweens,” says Brecker.

The song serves as a reminder to tune out the noise and make time for therapeutic outlets, whether that’s making music or going for a run.

The single title perfectly encapsulates the feeling of simple, carefree joy. “The song brought me back to when I was a child in my mom’s music room just playing piano or exploring a harmony pedal,” Brecker recalls. “That brought me so much joy back then. When things were so simple and carefree, making music still brings me so much joy, providing an escape when life can be so complicated!”

Unique Visual and Personal Touches

The artwork for the single is as personal as the music itself. Brecker created the cover image, which features a close-up of her eye with a reflection of her looking at her younger self, tying directly into the song’s theme. Adding another heartfelt layer, the song’s title on the cover was handwritten by Brecker’s six-year-old daughter, Lucy, further emphasizing the notion of the “Child at Heart.”

“Child At Heart” is a sonic invitation to embrace simplicity, joy, and the inner child, serving as a much-needed anthem for finding balance in a busy world.
