EMMROSE WROTE “CUFFING SEASON” LAST WEEK AND RELEASES IT IN TIME FOR THE HOLIDAYS
NEW YORK, NY | December 16, 2022 Indie Artist Emmrose is releasing “Cuffing Season”, a new song for your holiday playlist after being given the challenge to write and record a song in one day. On Wedneday, Dec. 7th Emmrose wrote the song, and on Dec. 8th her producer and multi instrumentalist Mike Abiuso recorded her piano track and vocals, performed the rest of the instrumentation, added some of his own backing vocals, and then mixed and mastered “Cuffing Season” so it would be just in time for the holiday season. Drawing upon a new slang term called “Cuffing”, Emmrose wrote the song about the time of year between October and February when people look for a relationship to last them through the holiday season.
“I wrote ‘Cuffing Season’ to be a relatable song for anyone going through the holiday months without someone to share them with,” It’s a pretty strange slang term coined to describe that time of year where single people start looking to start relationships during the colder months. A lot of my friends are going through this. There’s something so nice and special about going on hot chocolate dates with your partner, cuddling up and watching movies with them, or holding hands in their pocket when the weather is cold.”
The holidays can either feel like the most special time or the most lonely, and I wrote this song to be kinda comforting for everyone yearning for love. The ending lyrics are my favorite, “Holiday with no one to hold, or do I just miss the idea of love, in this cuffing season.” – Emmrose
“Cuffing Season” will be available on all major music platforms on Dec. 16. In the meantime, be sure to follow Emmrose on social media for updates and exclusive content.
