St. Louis, MO // October 15, 2016: In the cinema that is Carlton Ave, the music video “Temp Tags” is the climax/twist of the movie. For Danté Wolfe, everything in his life is leading up to this point. In the most practical terms, this song is a vivid depiction of a pivotal time in the 24 year-old rapper’s life.

His single “Temp Tags”, featuring Mvstermind singing on the hook, was premiered exclusively on Team Backpack just in time for its September 6th release. The site praised the tracks “soulful production” as well as Danté and Mvstermind‘s abilities to not let issues deter them from following their dreams.

Danté states, “Every verse is a page ripped right out of the book of life…look in my eyes or listen to my music, the story is the same.” His music tells the story of his life, his experiences, his struggles and what he has overcome to reach the success he has obtained. Fans should expect the same story-telling style in his upcoming record Carlton Ave and his new single “Temp Tags” already foreshadows that.

In the all black and white music video, Wolfe is shown in a brick style warehouse with Mvstermind, rapping about heartbreak and money problems. The video features frequent flashbacks to shots of Danté recording this song in the studio. The intimate look at the production of this song paints the picture of the musical process of “Temp Tags” and Danté’s journey as an artist.

Danté states, “I’ve gone through a lot of changes in the past year. It’s actually coming up on one year since I initially started creating this project and when the inspired events occurred.”

Initially, Danté started recording “Temp Tags” as something intended for a future Mvstermind project he was featured on. However, Mvstermind encouraged Danté to release the song on his solo album Carlton Ave. As a result, Danté chose “Temp Tags” to be the first single off the record.

Extended Biography:

Danté Wolfe is a talented artist, actor, and St. Louis native. Ever since the formation of M.M.E, a St. Louis hip hop collective that was founded in 2009, Danté has been a prominent figure in his city’s thriving Hip Hop scene.

In 2013, Dantés musical output began with the release of The Therapy EP, his first ever official recording. The five track rap record was produced by Mvstermind as well as all of his recordings to date. As a follow-up to The Therapy EP Danté dropped his first mixtape, The Black Leather T.A.P.E. which was released in January of 2015. The album showcases the St. Louis MC fully coming into his own as an artist, with an uncanny ability to vocally encapsulate the essence of Hip-Hop’s Golden era, while finding a balance with a critical look on the symptoms and solutions of destructive social issues of today. Danté champions the style of soulful, truth-rooted Hip-Hop with a sharp autobiographical edge, offering an unfiltered honesty that is always at the heart of his lyrical message. 2015’s The Black Leather T.A.P.E. helped to define Danté’s well-versed repertoire and established him as a major up-and-coming talent.

“While that album taught me everything I used for The God Complex, I wasn’t 100% satisfied with it. Some of those songs were from mid-late 2013. So I guess inspiration to begin a new, fresher project started there,” said Danté.

Shortly after in February 2015, Danté began writing for his newest release, The God Complex and recorded the album from May until June at MB Studios in Pennsylvania.

“For me, every verse I pen is a page ripped out of the book of life. I often tell stories in my verses and songs that inspired my personal experiences. I was about 3 songs into the album when I got the theme for The God Complex. It was based on a conversation I was having with a friend about what enables people to do certain things that most would agree with.”

Aside from personal experiences, Danté’s biggest inspirations who he often channels when writing a song are Kanye West, Kid Cudi and Nipsey Hussle.

Throughout the writing process, Danté developed his album’s theme: Mind – Body – Environment where all of the writing from The God Complex is rooted in. “Mind represents The God Complex, someone with no regard for the conventions and beliefs of society. Body is emblematic of the sacred temple of God. Lastly, environment represents a place where God is no longer present and explores how one’s true self acts when they think nobody is watching. ”
