NEW YORK | September 29, 2023 Recording artist, vocalist, and songwriter Amanda Brecker releases the 1980s-infused pop-rock single “Wrong Again” to all streaming platforms on Friday, September 29th. This is the second single released prior to the full album “Dreams” which drops on Friday, November 3rd. The new song confronts the difficulties of unrequited love, which involves having strong romantic feelings toward another person who does not feel the same way. It is a one-sided experience that can leave people with feelings of angst and confusion, examining the push and pull of relationships that eventually fall apart.
Co-written with artist Daniel Jakubovic, ”Wrong Again” was developed in a Queens, NY studio over a period of a few weeks. Working together is a slow yet organized process of songwriting and creative collaboration in sound and execution. With Brecker on vocals, Jakubovic then adds the additional instrumentation one by one as he is a multi-instrumentalist as well as an engineer and producer. Brecker and Jakubovic have collaborated on numerous songs over the years in working together, including the previous single released on August 29th, “Man of My Dreams”.
“It’s a song about having a fantastic bubble with someone… being in love with them and being absolutely sure they feel the same about you due to the obvious connection and vibe you both create, but when you say how you feel you get the opposite so it all explodes in your face. Also, as a person who loves to love and is addicted to feeling intensely, this obviously has happened before, so you’re – wait for it – wrong again.”
