The Ten-Year Anniversary Tour
FULL TOUR DATES LISTED BELOW
PENNSYLVANIA | April 1, 2025: Defiantly unique singer-songwriter Will Wood has announced the “Mr. Wood is Dead” Ten-Year Anniversary Tour for Summer 2025 featuring special guest Fish in a Birdcage. Following his winter 2024 “Slouching Toward Bethlehem” tour—a solo expedition blending comedic storytelling and distinctive music across the United States—this announcement represents a new era of evolution for the cult favorite independent artist, and an apparent swan song finale for the styles and themes that defined first ten years of his career. If Mr. Wood is indeed dead, where the artist plans to go from here is a mystery.
Kicking off the tour will be select solo shows in New York City celebrating the ten-year anniversary of Will Wood and the Tapeworm’s first album Everything is a Lot, featuring special guest Shayfer James.
In June and July 2025, fans in the eastern US will get a real treat with shows starring his band, the affectionately-dubbed Tapeworms, with whom Wood has not toured since the 2010s. These shows promise to deliver a reimagining of Wood’s earlier work, as well as unique takes on his most popular releases, enhanced by the high-energy dynamic that originally helped establish his unique position in the music landscape. The Tapeworms shows will feature support from Shayfer James, Moon Walker, and The Ruen Brothers.
TICKETS: Tickets will be available starting with Citi and artist presales beginning Tuesday, April 1. Additional presales will run throughout the week ahead of the general onsale beginning Friday, April 4 at 10am local time at WillWood.
In August, Wood will be performing the latest of his uniquely emotional yet comedic solo shows, this time in stunning theaters across the western and southern US with a combination of hits and reimagined versions of his early work, bringing the dramatic alt-comedy performance style that defines his work to new heights. These theater shows will also feature performances by Fish in a Birdcage.
Longtime fans will get to re-live the raw energy and theatrical elements that defined the early years, while newcomers will have the opportunity to witness the legendary partnership of Will Wood and the Tapeworms in its revitalized form. Fans will also have the opportunity to experience Wood’s medium-defying standup and genre-defying songwriting in theaters that (to quote Will) “were somehow comfortable with having their operas and ballets on the same calendar as a man with a penis for a name. I’m honored to have my weird cornball little one-man-musical thing included. Intimidated too. One of them is literally called The Palace of Fine Arts. Christ, guess I can hope my art is fine.”

ABOUT: In the ten years since the release of his debut album, indie singer-songwriter Will Wood has played the roles of drug-addled shock jockey, cryptic art-rock recluse, self-deprecating chamber-pop balladeer, and storytelling alt-comic with paradoxically equal parts authenticity and theatricality.
While it may have served Wood well to fall in line with the demands many artists face when confronted with an unexpected viral moment, the cult singer-songwriter has remained defiantly himself. In the theater, Wood’s emotive storytelling and standup intertwines with his widely varying style of music in a way that refuses to conform to either tradition, and when with his band, his raucous “Tapeworms” concerts are equally unconventional. His upcoming “Mr. Wood is Dead” 10-year-anniversary tour will be bringing both around the country, in front of larger audiences than ever before.
